The
automatic continuous carbonization Lambiotte retort, type CISR, forms the heart
of the installation which comprises, first, the preparation of wood and last,
the processing and packing of the charcoal.
The lambiotte process is characterized
by the fact that only the pyroligneous vapours are burnt, and not the wood nor
the charcoal, thus giving an output of charcoal twice to five time as high.
The automatic operation of the installation
entails a very large reduction in personnel required and, moreover, the work
place is healthy, and more pleasant, and the work is made simple and easy. The
"cooled"gas cooling water is recycled and the excess pyroligneous vapours are
burnt out in a flare stack to ensure environmental protection. The gases can
also feed a burner.
In the Lambiotte process, the charcoal
is cooled in the carbonization retort by "cooled" gases, and is discharged at
ambient temperature.
It is seen to be perfectly pure and highly
homogeneous, of an exceptional quality, with a very high carbon content.
The CISR retort is fully heat-insulated
and the absence of corrosive condensation gives the installation a very long
life.
